City of Seaside’s Annual CDBG Program | News
The City of Seaside is expected to receive an approximately $404,205 entitlement grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) for program year July 1, 2010-June 30, 2011. In total, approximately $594,205 is expected to be available for CDBG programs funded during this period, as follows:

The Program's goals are to fund activities that primarily benefit low and moderate income persons, to eliminate or prevent slums and blight, or to meet other urgent identified community needs.
The City of Seaside is now in the process of preparing the annual action plan for program year 2010-11 based upon priorities being developed for the Five-year Consolidated Plan that will be presented to the City Council for approval April 15, 2010. The Consolidated Plan will set forth the City's community development goals and objectives and the accompanying strategy for the expenditure of CDBG and local funds.
Some of the activities eligible under the CDBG program include:
• Public works facilities and improvements
• Acquisition of real property
• Public services
• Code enforcement
• Housing rehabilitation
• Land clearance
• Direct homeownership assistance
• Historic preservation
• Special economic development opportunities
